Alberta Marie

Alberta Marie:
The name Alberta Marie is a whimsical take on my two grandmother's names: Bertha and Mary Lou.  I make my own tag using 3 X 5 notecards and use my own wood-carved stamp. Then I (sometimes) type out the quilt information with my typewriter.
It seems appropriate that my "brand" be a woman's name.  My quilts are generally feminine. It takes extra strength to think in more masculine terms of color. My go-to colors are orange, pink and fuchsia.

I consider quiltmaking an effort beyond my normal self. It feels productive and promising to create usable art under a title.
